Prior to Game 3 of the 2026 NBA Finals, New York Knicks fans were salivating at the opportunity to watch their team clinch its first championships since 1973 at home. Because of that, ticket prices for Game 4 reached astronomical figures, with the get-in price reaching over $13,000.
But a Knicks loss in Game 3 ended any hope of a championship-clinching Game 4. As a result, ticket prices have plummeted ahead of Wednesday’s contest vs. the San Antonio Spurs.
As of Wednesday morning, the get-in price for Game 4 sits at $3,567, per Gametime. The get-in price also dropped for Game 5 in San Antonio. The Spurs can’t clinch in Game 5, which may explain the decline.
That’s a steep decline from where ticket prices previously sat, though not unexpected. Knicks hype was at an all-time high following the team’s Game 2, putting New York up 2-0 in the Finals.
But a Game 3 win by the Spurs not only extended the series, but likely gave Knicks fans some reasons for trepidation moving forward. After excellent performances in Games 1 and 2, Karl-Anthony Towns was held in check in Game 3. Spurs star Victor Wembanyama, who was held to poor shooting performances in the first two games of the series, finally had a strong night from the field, and dropped 32 points in the win.
With that said, the plummeting cost of tickets for Game 4 is probably a blip. If the Knicks are able to bring the series back to New York for Game 6, and have a chance to clinch a championship in that contest, prices will almost certainly skyrocket for that game. As of Wednesday, the get-in price for Game 6 is over $9,000. That figure should be subject to massive swings depending on how the next two games shake out.
After going such a long time without a championship, Knicks fans are desperate to see their team finally win it all. And they are willing to shell out incredible amounts of money to be a part of that celebration.
