Bam Adebayo makes NBA history, delivers 2nd-best single-game point total of all time, top fantasy High Score of season
yahoo -

We have just witnessed history, folks. In a seemingly nondescript game on Tuesday, March 10, Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo erupted for 83 points in a 150-129 win over the Washington Wizards. EIGHTY-THREE POINTS. For those keeping score at home, that marks the second-highest single-game point total in NBA history. On this night, Adebayo passed Kobe Bryant (81 points), who previously held the position of second all-time. The Heat big man only has Wilt Chamberlain (100 points) ahead of him in the record books. It’s also the highest single-point total since Luka Dončić dropped 73 in 2024. And, of course, that makes it the highest total of any active player in the NBA.

Shockingly, the records don’t end there. Adebayo tossed up 22 3-point attempts, the third-most attempts in NBA history (he made just seven of those attempts). And, mind-boggingly, Adebayo went 36-of-43 from the free-throw line. Those 43 attempts and 36 makes are both new NBA records.

Finally, we can’t forget about this obviously week-winning performance in fantasy basketball. Adebayo’s final stat line of 83 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks and 2 steals equated to 110 points in High Score formats — the top of the season thus far in High Score (and that “thus far” is doing some heavy lifting in that sentence). The previous high was owned by Nikola Jokić (108 points).

This just goes to show you that anything — and we mean anything — can happen on any given night in the NBA.
